Reduce Battery Usage
Almost all of knitCompanion’s battery usage is for the screen. There are settings both on your device as well as in the app that you can use to reduce the amount of energy your device screen requires, thereby extending your device’s battery life while knitting.
- Reduce the brightness of your screen. Even a small reduction in brightness can make a big difference.
- On iOS and iPhone OS, reduce the White Point. Even a small reduction in White Point can make a big difference. (please take note that this is an accessibility feature unique to Apple, it is not currently available on Android).
- Use the knitCompanion Inverted Marker with a grey/darker color. This will diminish the light the screen needs to produce for all but the current row you are working on. Learn More
- Enable Dark Mode. On Apple this will reduce the brightness of the overall app display.
